Chérie Wilkinson leads Let Them Sniff and holds certifications in Dog Training and Behaviour from The National Dog Trainers Federation. Having recently relocated from Canberra to Majors Creek, NSW, she is bringing the business along for the ride. Chérie has worked with hundreds of dogs and their owners in both private settings and community roles, including instructing classes for a local canine services business and the ACT Companion Dog Club.

Animal welfare is at the heart of Chérie's work. She has devoted much of her adult life to rescue efforts, volunteering, long-term fosters, supporting rehabilitation, and assisting with bushfire relief.

Prior to working full-time with dogs, Chérie spent a decade as a high school teacher. She quickly discovered how closely educating young people mirrors working with dogs, particularly through shared core values like empathy, consistency, and clear communication. That teaching background instilled a deep commitment to lifelong learning, driving her to regularly attend industry courses and conferences to refine her practice and expand her expertise.

At Let Them Sniff, we believe in a holistic approach that prioritises the mental, physical, and biological needs of dogs. Our primary goal is to foster well-balanced, content, and manageable companions, starting with the fulfilment of each dog's fundamental needs - whether it's engaging in enrichment activities, allowing them to move their bodies freely in nature, or providing outlets for their breed-specific drives through tailored games.

When it comes to challenging behaviours, we employ a combination of management strategies and gradual exposure. Learning and behaviour change can involve stress for our dogs (and us!), but we strive to support them through this process by building their resilience, confidence, and decompression capabilities with our holistic approach.

We also recognise the importance of supporting and empowering dog owners. We understand the challenges and frustrations that can come with sharing our homes with another species. We're here to provide you with some much-needed breathing space and practical solutions that fit into your lifestyle.
